The Soundtrack Of Your Ride
What do you listen to when you ride your bike?
In the afternoon Sun or by Nighthawks Light
Do you crank up some rage on your MP3
Do you stick your I-pod in a protective sleeve
Are you tuning up your ride to some Seasick Steve?
Does your backpack have speakers, to fill your Flow with Jazz
Does a rockabilly tune add feel to your low-riders snazz
maybe you have a radio to ride street with a beat
perhaps a D.J mix keeps the pedals glued to your feet
are you listening to a reggae groove to keep you up out your seat
perhaps classical style you with a neat sweat suite?
Me when I’m spinning aloung through the trees
I like to listen to the sounds of the birds and the breese
If I reach the top of that hill there’s a drum in my chest
going down that same hill like a wolf on the Prowl you know that I Howl!
Pull the dogs to the side, I’m polite with a scream and a yell
I’ll let you know that I’m coming with a “LEFT!” and a bell.
I like the sound of my tires on the dirt underneath
The sound of my chain and those sprockets with teeth
The Click of the gears and the squeel of the brakes
All these sounds let me know what’s going on in this space
Down in the valley, Where I’d rather be
I like to hear the Cycle Paths…Like Me
But when I’m up top riding asphalt and concrete
I do listen to music to drown out the street
Something with a beat to take away the horns
A great guitar solo removes the engines roar
A little bit of music in the mix makes the scene less harsh
with just one headphone in my ear I’m digging ‘the National parks‘
