EMBA July 2022 Newsletter

EMBA Membsership
  • Welcome to the July 2022 EMBA Newsletter: Our main focus over the summer months is trail maintenance, and we’ve had a lot of that. Like you, many of us are out enjoying summer, too, riding bikes and taking vacation time with family and friends. It’s been a bit of a scramble to get this month’s newsletter out. While this update may seem short on news and major developments, we want you to know we are still busy behind the scenes working on things like Edmonton Mountain Bike Skills Park with concept drawings and fundraising plans coming out soon. We continue to meet regularly with our City Administration Partners, discussing trail concerns and future trail plans. You can find us involved in National Urban Park meetings which are in the formative stage right now, so there isn’t anything to report yet. We are still waiting to hear more details on the trails near the E.L. Smith Water Treatment plant (Cameron Heights) trails and other trails that fall in the Anthony Henday Corridor (TUC) like Hyperloop, Coyote, and Bottle Rocket.
  • Six Shooter/Ray Gun are back!: The City has approved us to work on the Six Shooter and Ray Gun trails. They completed an on-trail assessment and shared a few concerns we are happy to help mitigate on an upcoming trail day. This is the first step toward building a process for adopting trails that have previously been outside our scope. We are encouraged by the progressive direction discussion that is happening due to the Council decision early this year.

  • EMBA Adopt-a-Trail – July Trail Maintenance: uly has been a busy month! Since our June newsletter, EMBA has completed work on 40 trails!
