Winter riding season is officially underway, and EMBA’s winter trail grooming has started for the year.

With recent snowfall and cold temperatures, our grooming crew was out early this morning laying down fresh corduroy and establishing the base for winter riding across key sections of the network.

Trails Groomed Today

The following trails were groomed this morning in Jan Remier (formerly Oleskiw) Park:

  • Logarithm

  • Flat Pete

  • Flatter Pete

  • The Meadow Trail

  • West Bench

Conditions are shaping up well, and we’ll continue building out the winter riding surface as weather and snow allow.

Terwillegar Park Update

Another crew is expected to groom the Terwillegar Park double-wide later today. This will help connect winter users through the park and improve overall accessibility for fat bikes and other winter trail users.

Trail Conditions & Feedback

Winter trail conditions can change quickly due to weather, temperature swings, and use. Rider feedback plays an important role in helping us prioritize grooming and identify problem areas.

If you’re out riding and notice:

  • Excellent conditions

  • Soft or drifted sections

  • Icy or uneven areas

  • Areas needing attention

Please share your observations through the Winter Grooming Feedback page.

Thank You to Our Volunteers

Winter grooming takes time, planning, and a lot of cold-weather commitment. Huge thanks to the volunteers who make winter riding possible in Edmonton by putting in the work behind the scenes.

We’ll continue sharing grooming updates as the season progresses. Stay tuned, and enjoy the ride.

Edmonton Mountain Bike Alliance respectfully acknowledges that the river valley and trails we ride and maintain are on Treaty 6 territory.
